The Senate has begun considering articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer accuse Republicans of exploiting the immigration crisis for political gain and he will probably vote to dismiss the impeachment with a simple majority. Republicans say Mayoraks caused the crisis through his inaction.    The President of Columbia University is in the hot seat over antisemitism on campus. In the House today, New York Republican Elise Stefanik said Columbia is not taking enough action against faculty members who spew anti-Israel rhetoric. Columbia President Minouche [[ min-oosh ]] Shafik said, although initially unprepared, the university has taken multiple steps following the swarm of protests in response to the October 7th attack on Israel.    Embattled House Speaker Mike Johnson is releasing his plan to give military assistance to U.S. allies. Johnson unveiled four bills to provide aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan today. The move has sparked a backlash from conservative Republicans who want to tie funding for Ukraine to border policy changes.    The accused Gilgo Beach killer is back in a Long Island courtroom today. Rex Heuermann who's charged with murdering four women found along Ocean Parkway in 2010 made a brief appearance in court. Attorneys for the former New York City architect are asking to see the FBI files on former Suffolk County Police Chief James Burke, who they believe was suppressing the investigation, not letting the FBI participate.    The popular weight loss drug Zepbound also appears to help with obstructive sleep apnea. That's according to drugmaker Eli Lilly. The company said it plans to submit trial results to the USDA to possibly expand the drug's use.    The NBA Play-In Tournament continues today. The Miami Heat will travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Later, the Atlanta Hawks will visit the Chicago Bulls in the nine-ten seed game. The winner of that game will advance to play the loser of the Miami-Philly game on Friday for the 8th seed.
